Research Projects

Between 2012 and 2015 there were 122 research projects ongoing at the Cardiology Department; 854 patients have been included in Clinical Trials and other Clinical Studies and at the end of 2015 more 689 inclusions were planned to achieve Department goals for the ongoing studies.

Beyond the participation in a large number of research projects funded by Industry, the Department also continues to integrate partnerships with international Academic Institutions and Scientific Societies. During 2015, four FCT funded projects were also active (successful applications to IC&DT 2012, 2013 and 2014). For the first time, the Department integrated international research projects funded by Horizon 2020.

According to the consistent increase observed across the years, between January and November 2016, there were 118 research projects ongoing at the Cardiology Department.
